CANCELLED
Let's do our part. Due to the self-isolation policies to help prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus, the Half Baked event has been canceled for 2020.
Start Time: We will again be starting at 9:00 am this year. This should allow us to have racers off course by 11:00pm or so. One of our main goals is to provide a fun and inclusive atmosphere, and this includes the post race festivities. We love having the Bluegrass and Bonfires, and want to have more time to hang out with you, the racers, after the "serious" stuff is done with. We feel this earlier start time will allow this and provide more opportunity for camaraderie and to hear your stories from the days events.
UPDATED Geezer Category definitions: In order to qualify for these categories, a 2 Person Male Geezer team MUST have a combined age of at least 90 years, and a 3 Person Male Geezer team MUST have a combined age of 135 years. Birthdays will be requested during the registration process and will be checked at registration/packet pickup. Yes, we have raised the age for Geezers!!
COED Category definitions: These categories are designated Coed Teams and must consist of at least 1 female, but can include all female teams as well. Any teams registered in these categories that consist of all males will be transferred to the corresponding Male categories.
We have expanded the category options this year, but we will combine categories with less than five racers or teams registered as of April 13. We don't want anyone to feel lonely on the results pages!
Please note the added categories--
3 Person Junior: each team member must be 17 or under to race this category. Parents MUST come to check in to sign waiver for racers under 18! Parents please carefully consider your Juniors riding ability before signing them up, they will be on the course at the same time as all of the adult racers.
Solo Male Geezer : yeah, yeah, there have been a lot of requests for this category. must be 45+ to register here
Course description: The course is made up of rolling hills with plenty of semi-technical challenge in the form of rocks, roots, log piles, and small ledges. This is a fast course, but has been designed to accommodate all skill levels, from Beginner to Expert.
Pre–Riding: In addition to the Friday before the race, there will be at least one pre-ride opportunity prior to race weekend which will be announced at a later date, and hopefully scheduled around agreeable weather conditions. All participants will be asked to sign a liability waiver prior to pre-rides. Check back here for Pre-ride dates & times, additionally all registered racers will receive email updates.
The venue will be open Friday April 26 at 12:00 noon. You may begin setting up your campsites at this time. The trail will be open beginning at noon for pre-ride as well, trail will be closed at dark.
